Pont Alexandre III was designed by the architects Resal and Alby for the Universal Exposition of 1900 and was named after Tsar Alexander III of Russia. Alexander III Bridge is considered as the most beautiful bridge in Paris. Aligned with the Esplanade des Invalides, the Pont Alexandre III connects the Grand and Petit Palais on the right bank with the Hotel des Invalides on the left bank. The Pont Alexandre III is lavishly decorated with lampposts and sculptures of cherubs, nymphs and winged horses at either style of the bridge reflects that of the Grand Palais, to which it leads on the right bank. |
